It’s been a while since I had the time to write an entry.. it has been an insanely busy Summer. Feels like in the last year, I’ve finally achieved a balance between shooting creative fashion and commercial work, and my Fine Art photography.
One of the projects I worked on over the last few months was a collaboration with model/activist Alexandra Wynne, and amazing fashion stylist Ise White. We created a fashion editorial that 1st ran in the Worldwire preview issue of Refuse Magazine (a magazine entirely dedicated to raise awareness to the refugee crisis) and then later in the sustainable fashion magazine Eluxe. Our goal was to create a visually beautiful fashion story with using actual items that the refugees use in their journey from Syria to Greece.. from life jackets, solar puffs, space blankets, donated blankets and jackets.. to actual jewelry that the children had beaded at the camps.
My baby girl Ilo made her 1st editorial debut in the story.. and we had an inspiring day shooting with a powerful all-women team in my studio in Tribeca. Ise created incredible pieces right at the studio using raw materials.. turning refuse into fashion couture.
